In partnership with Gillette, we have elevated the Gillette Bomber Cup to a new experiential level for the community by creating an entirely new map. This year, for the announcment of a new product that will be released in 2024, we worked so hard to craft a strategic approach to evolve one of the most important Fortnite tournament in Italy: The Gillette Bomber Cup of course!
Game Design & Tech Aspects
The new Gillette City is a Fortnite map built with UEFN, where through a game design process, we defined locations, mood elements, and positioned brand elements to make them functional for players. The result was a highly appreciated map by players and streamers, hosting the most significant Fortnite tournament in Italy, with over 5000 attendees and half a million online streams.
We’ve been playing also with generative AI to craft moodboards and define environments using 360 AI skyboxes images generator, then we moved to define design elements to put on the map.
The event
The map was launched 2 weeks before the Milan Games Week events, opening the tournament to pro-gamers teams.
The final during the MGW2023 hosted more than 5.000 in-presence spectators and over half million spectators online during the streamings made by casters and players.
